Molly Bobroff & Matthew Day. Two voices, one band, built around the tension between them.
MOMA is Molly Bobroff and Matthew Day. Two voices, one band, built around the tension between them. Their songs don't resolve neatly. They sit in the uncomfortable middle ground between knowing something isn't right and choosing to stay anyway.
Molly's voice carries hope in places it has no business being. Matt's is quieter, rougher. The sound of someone who's thought about something too long and finally said it. Together they don't harmonise so much as argue in the same key. It works because it's honest.
The music isn't chasing anything. No trends, no polish for its own sake. Rooted in indie folk with a Western undercurrent, it sounds like it was written somewhere between London and York at an unreasonable hour. Largely because it was.
Four singles in. Each one a different angle on the same question: what do you do with the feeling that won't leave you alone?
Four singles. Four different versions of the same question.
An indie rock track about grief and distance. How someone can feel so close but be completely out of reach. Recorded at Echotown Studios with a full band, mixed and mastered by Jack Hudson (Sony Music Studios).
A mid-tempo indie folk track about the decision to stay when you know you shouldn't. Restrained, dual-vocal, with a Western undercurrent. The tension isn't dramatic. It's quiet. Familiar. Which is what makes it uncomfortable.
An intoxicating song about an intoxicating relationship. The push and pull of something you know isn't working but can't leave behind. Best heard through headphones, on a long drive, in the middle of the night.
Named after the Celtic dance, Cรฉilรญ is a jolly, energetic debut about two people meeting for the first time: the nerves, the charm, the dance floor and the hope of something more. Cheerful, joyful, and meant to be moved to.
Live performances. Four singles, out now.

"Its lyrics are romantic without being overly sentimental. The guitar work is laced with intensity. Things remain interesting."Lefuturewave · February 2025 · Kiss Me Slowly
